In-Person Drop-Off Class Policy, Terms & Conditions

Due to the limited number of participants, notice of your child’s inability to attend the Course is required to the following email: jacky@lemonhousepublishing.com.

Refund Policy: A full refund of all monies paid toward the Course will be issued if notification of cancellation is received up to 2 weeks (14 days) before the first day of the Course.

No Refund/Payment Credited: No refund will be granted for notice of cancellation made within 2 weeks of the first day of the Course. If notification of cancellation is received more than 48 hours in advance of the first day of the course, we may offer the option of crediting your payment toward your child’s participation in a future session of the Course. This option is based on the availability of future courses and is at Lemon House’s sole discretion; it is not guaranteed. It is your responsibility to contact Lemon House at the email above regarding this option.

No Refund/No Credit: No refund will be granted, nor will any credit for monies paid be issued toward a future session of the Course for notice of cancellation received less than 48 hours before the first day of the Course.

The Course will start on the date listed in the registration form and each Session will begin at the time listed. If you do not provide the required notice, fail to attend the Course or any Session, are late to any Session of the Course, or need to leave a Session of the Course early, no refund will be granted for any portion of the monies paid toward the cost of the Course. If your child is an active participant in the Course but misses a Session, please contact Lemon House at the email above. While make-up classes are not guaranteed, we are available to discuss potential options to help your child continue their timely progress toward completion of the Course.

Child Safety and Unattended Child Policy: The Course is offered to children who are 8 to 12 years old. Parents and caregivers (“you,” “your”) may stay on site during the Course Session, or your child may be left unattended for the time of the Session. You are in the best position to know your child’s temperament and their ability to behave and participate in the Course without a parent or caregiver on site. In either case, whether you choose to stay on premises during a Course Session or leave your child unattended, Lemon House is not responsible for the supervision, care, safety, and behavior of your child during the Course. You acknowledge and agree that the care, safety, and behavior of your child always rests with you. If you choose to leave your child unattended while they participate in the Course, you must provide a phone number where we may reach/contact you at any time during the Session as well as an additional emergency contact name and phone number to be contacted if we cannot reach you.

You must be available to pick up your child at the end of the Course Session, and you are solely responsible for who picks up your child. We do not verify the authorization as to who is picking up your child. Any changes to our normal policy must be communicated prior to the end of the Session when pick up is to begin.

If you are more than 5 minutes late to arrive, we or your child will call you at the number you provided to us. If you cannot be reached or have not arrived within 10 minutes of the Session’s end, we will call the emergency contact person you indicated at the number you have provided to us. If you have not arrived or we have been unable to reach you or the emergency contact you provided within 15 minutes of the Session’s end, we will contact the Needham Police Department* located at 99 School Street, Needham, Massachusetts to collect your child. The Needham Police may be reached at 781-453-0102. Under no circumstances will Lemon House staff transport or accompany a child from the location of the Session to any other location. *If class is held in Newton, MA or another town, we will contact the local police department of the town we are holding class.

We may change these policies and procedures as warranted and for the safety and well-being of a child participant in the Course. However, Lemon House does not act in loco parentis. You are ultimately responsible for your child during the Course. Please email jacky@lemonhousepublishing.com or contact us at 781-343-1511 if you have a situation that requires more individualized attention.

If your child’s behavior is unacceptable or if it disrupts any aspects of the Course including, but not limited to, the performance of the instructor’s duties or the enjoyment and learning of other participants in the Course, Lemon House reserves the right to ask/contact you to remove your child from participating in the Course. Lemon House at its sole discretion, will decide whether a misbehaving child will be allowed to return to the next weekly Session of the Course, if applicable.

Lemon House’s Right to Cancel or Postpone: Lemon House reserves the right to cancel or postpone a Session of the Course or the Course itself, for any reason including but not limited to the illness of an instructor, the limited number of participants, the unavailability of the facilities, the weather, any government rules and regulations, and other unanticipated circumstances. In cases of cancellation or postponement, Lemon House will make commercially reasonable efforts to contact you in a timely manner. Except in cases of cancellation or postponement due to force majeure, Lemon House will offer, at its sole discretion, a remedy such as a refund of monies paid for the cancellation of the full Course or a make-up session to replace a missed Session of the Course.

Printing and Publishing Agreement: You understand and agree that if you choose to publish or print your child’s story content created through your child’s participation in the Course, your signed acceptance of our Lemon House Publishing and Printing Agreement will be required.
